Looking at a Welder watch on WUS and was looking at the K-28. The watch looks very Anonimo...ish and I was wondering why the $1800-2000 range for a 8215 Miyota, mineral crystal....bla bla....are they worth the big $$$$? Inquiring minds would like to know....TIA

Welder is from the designer of U-Boat watches which draw a nice price also for the watches. Most of the Italian watches I have seen have a larger price tag to them than those out of the Swiss and German factories.

Just take a look at these listed prices.

I don't think you're missing a thing Greg.:D I guess if the design speaks to you,  the price is irrelevant for the value of the components? Boy, that a rationalization!!

Yea I have yet to go over $400 for a watch with a Miyota movement in them. Yes a great movement but to many sweet watches with a Miyota under $400 to pay out that much. If I were to buy a Welder or U-Boat I'd go for one with a Swiss movement. ;)

get used to rising prices and seeing more and more Miyota driven watches being offered as a low cost alternative to high end designs....Welder just like any other watch company is giving a lower cost alternative over the Swiss counterpart of the same watch.....it comes down to market demand and there are those willing to pay less for a high end U-Boat/Welder design with a Japanese movement that otherwise would cost much more with a eta/Swiss Made...the Times are a changing :D

Hard to imagine that in todays crappy "World Economy" that that would hold true....at least for the foreseeable. But then again what do I know....I'm realatively new to this market.

i love the designs, might bit a little over the top but its still hand6.gif as least in my books. i handled a few at a local outlet, looks and feel the $$$.but one thing i cant get over is..there is 0 lume. NADA! ZIP! sure, it might not be a diver, but one would think if u charge these prices at least slap on some nightvision.  mistake.gif  btw i was told in this current economy crisis. U-boat is increasing its RRP throughout the range.....again!!! face4.gif

Talking to and listening to allot of folks over about the last 3 years i saw changes like that coming. I did not foresee such a market crash or i would have pulled out way before I did. But that is part of why you saw that crazy Dawg buying up so many watches left and right when I could. I have plenty to hold me over for this economic storm. LOL :D

Sales are slumpin... now can't wait to see the results after they raise their prices....Most companies are dropping prices...I just got an email from Disney that states 40% off your trip.....well I know where I'm going this summer.....smile8.gif I"M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!
