You remember WR necessarily should negate dress status though. My Stowa Marine LE is good size at about 42mm but I would still its dress... of course it's not really a big watch these days...toon1.gif

Got a commander too, but its not as pretty as JD's.

I had that exact same Pax, Awesome!  And wait til you see the Special Something comming in the Mail today!!!!! ;)

Probably having nothing to do with this topic, IMHO the thinner, dress watches are usually handsome and sexy as hell.  happy1.gif

Have never seen beauty in the chronos or other beaters.

Shall now depart before you start yelling at moi.  :D

I'm in the market for a good dress watch. I don't currently have one. My criteria:

1)It must be mechanical (auto or wind) (Won't wear it often enough to want to deal with a dead battery)
2)Simple; Hours, minutes, seconds (Date with or without Day is ok).
3)I prefer Silver case & black leather strap for a dress watch but a bracelet can work in some cases.

I don't think I want to spend big dollars on a watch that won't get worn very often.......<$400. Probably end up with a nice Jacque Lemans or Mido....possibly a Seiko....and possibly a nice condition vintage Omega.

That's what I paid for a used (though in excellent condition) Limes Cartouche last year.  I absolutely love the watch, though I replaced the black croc strap it came with, with a reddish-brown strap, which I think looks better and which I think makes the deep blue hands and numbers more noticeable.  Great case, too, which doesn't seem to scratch, due to its design.
