Me too. Not a TAG fan. But that's a very great-looking, classic design watch. That watch shown is, I think, the watch that inspired the creation of the bigger and heavier TAG Autavia, the one worn by Lex Luthor as he was stealing the crystal from Superman's cave.

Ya know - I can't claim to be a big TAG fan either, but some of the Heuers that predate the modern TAG range - like their gutsy looking 1000m diver and a coupla others - still starch my shorts! The Monaco re-issue is a blinder.

And by the way, O - nice new avatar! yourock.gif

Way over priced, I'm pretty sure the recommended retail price is about $11,000, whilst the estimate for McQueen's own Monaco is $10,000 to $15,000... Hmmm hard decision that one!!! Of course it'll never go for that much because Heuer will no doubt hire a guy to bid against them to get the price many times over the estimate to add providence and cheap advertising. As far as I'm concerned Heuer lost its way about 25 years ago.

I'm not sure if you are referring to the original models or the re- editions. The re-edition while a bit overpriced imo goes for far less than $11K. I think full retail is just under $4k.

When I was a kid hanging out at Auto World in Scranton I used to drool over the Heuer catalogs of the early 70's.  I would love to own a classic Heuer, but TAG just never did it for me.

That Monza is a sweet watch!

Cheers,
Griff
