Is anyone familiar with this model? There are some being advertised as model SS 5102 on the Bay, but the seller does not know what is under the hood.

As a chrono movement afficionado I'm very curious.

Russian, maybe?  I'm not aware of any Japanese mechanical chrono movements in current production, bar the very expensive Velaturas.

There was a query on this watch and movement before. I just forget it it was here or another forum but it boiled down to most believed it to be a Chinese movement.

Graham,

That one may have a Seagull movement in it, so might be worth taking a chance on.

It's a Seagull ST-19 (01 I think) with the 12 hour subdial slaved to the main movement, same movement as in the original Alpha "Newman".
Mine has been great, however not everyone has had the best luck...

Cheers,
Griff

Thanks, guys.  If it is indeed the Seagull, it is a fine movement indeed.  I have a Precista PRS-5 with that movement and it is great.

I was hoping it was something else.  As most of you know, I have a weakness when it comes to different chrono movements.  I am actually still looking for a Chinese V7750 movement watch for my collection. Anything but a fake.  Maybe someone wants to offload one?

The 3rd subdial on that Invicta got me confused. Griff, thanks for clearing that up.

Scott, that Invicta of yours looks great!

after some research I found that this watch uses the 22j version of the Seagull ST-19 as pictured below which does have the 3rd subdialhand6.gif
