I noticed on the orient web site today they have 40%off (use code people40). I was looking at the cem6500 series and with the discount I can get it for $96. Just wondering if anyone has any insite on the quality of this watch if its worth the $96, also if anyone nos the size of the case they dont say on the site or I just missed it. The sale is for today only I think. Thanks

A link to the watch would be really helpful.:D I just went to the site but was unable to search under the model # you provided. Forget it.... Just googled and it is the new Mako: http://www.orientalwatchsite.com/orient-cem75001b-automatic-watch/ As stated the watch is 45mm diameter. Worth a c-note? Hell yes imho. I had the old Mako and it was a great watch. This only looks better!woohoo.gif

They are not bad watches and keep decent time. And the discounted prices sound good. ;)

Thanks Bro, but the one I saw on the orient site was the cem65001b for $96 with a retail of $160. I assume it is the previous model to th ecem75001b. I did notice them on ebay in the $100 range. The only difference I see in the side by side from the link you attached is that it looks a little smaller.

the 6500's are great watches, referred to as the "Mako" Solid build qualitly, decent lume, great example of the Orient brand. The 7500's seem to have the same great build quality but the big markers missed out on decent lume and got the Hong Kong white enamel instead... ![]()

Olde Crow, You got that right. I recently ordered and received the bigger Orient Mako...the 7500, in Orange. I am extremely pleased with it. They made it out to be the "new improved Mako" and in many ways it IS! The larger size has great presence, but not overly huge. The Orange dial looks better than my Orange Monster. The hands are great, the indices easier to see. BUT, I expected BETTER LUME! What I got was WORSE LUME! Unbelievable! Absolutely......with all the comments about the Mako's poor lume, one would THINK they would improve the lume? BUT NOOOOO! Worse.....pretty much just enamel. But, I like the total package better. I was about to send it off for a LUME JOB, but I don't want to wait 6 months and spend a couple of hundred on a $125 watch. However, with that said, I'd buy a new one again. Looks GREAT.
