Hi everyone,

I need some help again :D

I'm relatively new to forums and English not being my first language, I have some trouble finding the meaning of many abbreviations or expressions used on forums, like: BTT,WTT,BUMP... I tried the search engine to find any kind of post or lexical that could give me definitions but had no luck.

I've been reading and posting more and more on 3T I would highly appreciate, if anybody could point me in the right direction, so i can educate myself and continue my pleasant experience here on 3T with a better understanding of what's expressed in the different posts.

If there is no reference page or links, then I'll keep reading and... mistake.gif

Fortunately, I like this place enough to miss a few words once in a while and enjoy my experience anyway.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Daniel

Thanks Daniel for asking this question!  I do speak English and I'm somewhat computer literate but I will be the first to admit some of the abbreviations have me scratching head.  mistake.gif  I appreciate your honesty and courage to ask for assistance, now if some can point us toward a good Internet abbreviation lexicon.  hand6.gifhand6.gif

Hiya daniel from my understanding

BTT= bump to the top, to move a post to the top of its catagory

WTT = want to trade

and Bump is just a simple word much like BTT to move a particular post to the top of it's catagory

hope this helps

Greg

While I've been guilty of using a few of the simpler one's and understand how these abbreviations came to be with the advent of cell phones that text; I just shake my head in sadness when I think about the number of younger people that have gotten so lazy that they won't take the time to actually type a word on a computer. Is it really that hard? Sorry for the sidetrack, but I get a little cranky anytime I read large amounts of text-ese as I'm always getting messages from my kids that make no sense and I end up having to ask them 3 times what the hell they're trying to tell me.
