Here's the link to Tom Bolts website. There's a lot of eye candy to peruse.

I have to say that being a watch retailer and
authorized dealer,it breathed new life into
my job after seeing the film.

I agree with the fact, when people walk into
my store and ask.

"Why do I need a watch,
when my cell phone can tell time
?"

This raises red flags, these people are
there to waste every minute of my time.

Time that could have been well spent with
a potential buyer who will enjoy a fine watch.

Thank you for posting this inspiring video
and I wish Tom Bolt years of success for showing
the underbelly of the vintage watch collector's
world.

I have found a new appreciation for my job...hand6.gif

Cheers,
Simon

Thanks for sharing this film but, are these people really watch collectors or are they watch investors? I might have missed something and/or be completely wrong by what I took away from watching the film but, I believe that collectors should be less worried about resale value and more concerned with the art and craftsmanship that a watch brings to those who appreciate them.  While that was important to those in the film, I kept getting the money theme over and over again. Perhaps I was reading more of that into it than was actually there.

As a long time collector, I enjoy all watches. Yes, I own 2 Rolex, a number of Omega and other higher end watches but, I also collect and wear, not so high end watches too.  I do draw the line at plastic watches though... To be on my wrist, I must be made of better materials.

Just my impression but, did anyone else come away with that feeling? Again thank you, Graham for sharing.

Clyde
