I have read great references on the Seiko Monsters. I am thinking about getting one and, in one on-line retailer, I have the following choices

1) Black Monster w/bracelet. Special price US$ 169.

2) Black Monster w/bracelet, no papers or box. Price US$ 159

3) Orange Monster w/rubber, no papers or box. Price US$ 145

I am not too much into rubber, but I have a Watchadoo 20mm on the way for another watch, which I could use on the monster as well. The Seiko bracelet does look nice in the pics, though...

I am pretty bad for these kind of decisions, so opinions would be most helpful.

ive had a black monster on bracelet for a while, so i ordered an Orange monster with no box and papers and rubber strap a few weeks ago.  service was great, with quick shipping to me.

i say go for the black monser w/bracelet with no box and papers.  then add an orange one later and just swap the bracelet as needed.  :)

I agree. Also, I recommend the 22mm watchadoo on which you modify the end link by filing 1 mm on each side. I have both, black and orange and I put the 22mm watchadoo on the OM and love it. You can't go wrong with the Seiko Monster IMHO. Good choice hand6.gif

Orange... but that is my stock answer to almost any question.;) No need to worry about papers with a Monster. Get the cheaper of the two on the bracelet and then get the opposite on the strap. Then you have it all.:dude:

Great help, thanks.

I came across as well with the "Seiko 5 XXL Automatic Dive Watch". Any opinions on that one ?

Tough looking watch BUT, you have to be aware that the black bezel/crown guard is made of plastic :(, if you have no problem with that (i do) go for it, it's a very nice looking watch with a solid bracelet. Seiko 5 often get cheap bracelets, not this one.  I would also recommend the SAWTOOTH, if you don't mind a quartz watch, well, nothing is perfect in this world.   I wish they had the SAWTOOTH case with the auto movement but...Ha yea  :D, the 600m Tuna Can 6159-7010 or SBDX005 is close enough but, good luck to find one in good condition and $$$$... I hope I'm not drooling on your desk subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif

I believe the plastic part was not a turn-on for me even before your posting. Also, I think maybe the Monster is more of a classic, and a bit more easy to wear because of the smaller size.

Do not like choices...crap.gif

Again, the Monsters are great buy at very affordable price i got my OM on steel bracelet for $155 subtlelaugh.gif and my BM, also on steel for $165 subtlelaugh.gif shipped both from Pokemonyu on eBayYou should stick with your first idea, i truly believe that the Seiko Monsters are still the best buy for the money out there for a real certified Auto diver's watch IMOH.  And I can guaranty you that once you own one, you won't be able to live a normal life without the other color (forget about the limited edition, blue, red, yello...) yourock.gif
