Hey Everyone, I'm starting this new thread, in "High Praise of Günter Steinhart" - the man behind the Steinhart watches himself. I'd love to hear other Steinhart praise, & all positive comments are welcome! :) First off, I'd like to share my experience with Günter. I have NEVER met an owner of a watch company so genuinely kind, goodhearted, generous, and truly caring of his customers than Günter. I have been looking at Pilot, 'Flieger' watches for sometime now (and have stayed up long nights trying to decipher the differences as well as similarities between all the brands). I have been looking at different companies such as Stowa, Laco, Steinhart, Archimede. Up till recently I was all for Stowa, and I was REALLY close to purchasing a Stowa. I conversed in a couple e-mails back and forth with Jorg, and other members of his staff . Everything seemed great, but then I started looking at the 40mm case size, and decided it was too small for me *as I had a Tissot PRS-516 that I just sold on WUS which was 40mm* I needed something bigger. When I started to compare things between Stowa & Steinhart, a voice inside my head kept pulling me towards Steinhart (this voice was heavily weighed by the price difference at first). Although Stowa is an awesome watch, I really liked the idea of having a larger case and a heavier more dominating presence. After the constant debating in my head, I just couldn't justify the huge price difference between the two brands, when in all honestly from a "viewers or friends point of view", they both look very similar (as most B-Uhr) style watches do. The long wait times of Stowa was another reason pushing me away from Stowa & more towards Steinhart. So I then started looking for Steinhart Nav B. I started conversing via email with about possibly purchasing a new Nav B, and also spoke with him about some custom options, etc. He was extremely helpful, and would answer my e-mails promptly. I could tell by the way he was responding to me that he genuinely cared about making me happy as a customer. He was trying to find a product that fit my needs properly (and as a previous business owner I can really appreciate that). He was very polite, and he knew his product well. I never felt as if I was "troubling him" or as if he was "too busy" to talk to me. (*A feeling I truly got from dealing with Steinhart's direct competitors*) He would answer every one of my questions, even the many dumb or ridiculous questions I may have asked. The thing with Günter is......in my opinion, he doesn't believe in any "dumb questions", but instead he believes in treating the customer with respect, and that "no question is a dumb question/please ask away" type attitude. This is what started me to really look hard at the Steinhart Brand. Some time passed and.... I came accross a MINT 44mm Nav B Automatic. I purchased it, it arrived just a couple days ago, and boy do I LOVE IT! I cannot be happier. The finish is excellent on it, it has a very nice feel to it, looks amazing (the blue hands are amazing) and THIS DIAL IS SO EASY TO READ! If I place it on a desk....I can read the time standing far away from it! ![]() ![]() While my watch was in transit, I contacted Günter and let him know that I purchased another watch. To my surprise, he was ecstatic! I really couldn't believe it. After all those e-mails we conversed about me purchasing a brand new watch from him directly, I ended up going a different route. And he was still happy for me! He could have easily either ignored me, or showed some type of negative vibe because I didnt purchase from him, but instead it was the total opposite reaction! ![]() He treated me as if I was a direct customer of his. Which I thought was very praiseworthy. I then asked him about the Steinhart Steel Bracelet with Hidden Clasp. From previous e-mails he knew that money was tight with me as I'm a student, and not only did he give me an amazing deal on the bracelet.......he also gave me the Diamond Crown & a Black Buffalo Strap as a Kind Gift from him! I seriously couldnt believe it! He already gave me a very nice deal on the bracelet because of my circumstance, and I never expected him to give me the Diamond Crown & The Black Strap as a gift. For ME, This REALLY separates Günter from the rest of the brands (Stowa, Archimede, Laco). I never got this type of treatment from any of those brands. I also felt honestly that with the other brands, every little thing is a charge, which ultimately raises the price of their watch way too high for my tastes. I know for a fact that I would never get a free crown or a free bracelet from the other companies. It was always "extra charge". With Günter....I felt his generosity was kind and genuine. I felt as if he truly wanted to gain and keep me as a customer and a friend. I didnt feel like I was just simply someone he "sold" something to. He took the time out of his busy day to treat me with respect, and help me with any questions I had. He has gained me as a customer, and I'm sure many others have similar experiences with him. I'll tell you one thing from my reading on the forums, Günter goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure customers are happy, and that they are getting what they want. If there is a problem, I always see it fixed (from my readings). One thing I'd like to point out....Günter always makes sure that warranty problems are fixed, and for THAT simply I praise him. He truly believes in customer loyalty. Günter is ONE brand that I can honestly say "I dont have to worry about something not being covered under warranty". I know that if it is an honest problem, he'll have an honest solution. Cheers, enjoy the pictures....and please please tell me your praise and good stories regarding Günter. From my own experiences.....that Günter is a top notch person, businessman, and I can honestly say "friend". I felt like Günter did not view me as a $ sign, but instead a friend. I felt like what I was saying mattered to him. Cheers to Günter....and Günter, if you are reading this, Thank You for everything. Your kindness & generosity are truly appreciated. I'm proudly wearing your watch as we speak. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Glad you had a good experience! I've never dealt with them personally; but it's always a pleasure when you find someone who really seems to care about what they're doing. You'll get similar attention from Howard Marx at Westcoastime you should check out his site- http://www.westcoastime.com/ Congratulations on a great watch
