Over the past year or two I have accumulated a few watches of the Asian persuasion...they are kind of interesting because of the various complications...retrograde, big date, regulator, power reserve, open heart, skeleton, etc. As well as some pretty cool dial finishes. For the most part they are all TY automatic movements, a couple manual wind and the chronos are all quartz...a couple are Swiss quartz. The case finish on them is amazingly good and the ones on bracelets are also not to shabby...just a testament to the quality coming out of Asia' The other amazing thing is I paid less than $50 for all but 4 of them, some way under $50 and the other 4 were under $70. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited on Fri Sep 11th, 2009 02:45 pm by Nabco |

Very nice, both of you. One could easily base a hobby on just the Chinese watches.

Not a fan of skeleton/open heart watches but there are plenty of great Asian watches out there.

Wow you have a load of them, Nick. But you have blown my mind... Rousseau and Louis Bolle sure sound vaguely European to these ears.![]()

Modem burner, you weren't kidding. I was just scrolling and scrolling waiting for the end. Some real nice looking pieces, especially (for me) the first one. And all of them priced nicely to boot. Last edited on Fri Sep 11th, 2009 08:20 pm by BOSCHETT |

Just out of curiosity, have you had any problems with any of them? What are the build quality of the chinese made compaired to other manufactures?

I have never had one that stopped working, as far as build quality, for what I paid for them they are great, cases are finished nicely, dials are nice...obviously not Swiss or German quality but for under $75 not bad....one note on the autos the rotors are noisy

Wow! Nick your Asian watch collection is bigger than my entire watch collection!![]() How is the precisions on those autos and mechanical watches??? Some people I'm working with bought replicas of known brands with Chinese auto movements and they would be very bad on keeping time (+2 or 3 min a day then -2min a day...) and almost impossible to regulate. I guess there is also different grade in their movements? Anyway, I think Asia is becoming a more and more important player in the watch industry. I just wish they had more of their own original movements instead of copying movements (mainly Swiss) that were developed by Europeans for centuries. For sure their prices are impossible to beat. No matter what you're looking for: chronos, Tourbillon, retrograde or other complications... Crazy what you can do with cheap labor...:? Kind of hard to say on the accuracy Daniel....I rarely if ever wear the same watch more than one day in a row, so it is not something I look at that closely....I can say though that if it was more than 30 or 40 seconds +/- in a 10 to 15 hour period I would probably notice it
