I have to assume that there are different qualities of spring bars out there. For some reason I noticed that some of the more expensive watches in my collection utilize spring bars whereas the more economical ones utilize screws to fasten the bands to the case.

So, is there a major difference, and if so, who makes (or where to buy) some of the better quality spring bars. I was reading an article where someone lost a very expensive dive watch due to a spring bar breaking. Luckily they were able to find it.

That got me thinking to perhaps switch out my springbars to known excellent quality (tough) ones.

That is what got me thinking...

A seldom area that is often overlooked
is where the pin connects to the lug.

The lug hole maybe worn
or damaged. In the case with the
current Movado,I am seeing signs
were these holes are drilled 0.5 inch
too shallow for which allows the pin to sit
in properly.

There is no cure except to use a pin
with a smaller diameter pivot end,for
this situation.

The replacement pins we use in the
store are Swiss Made, like the ones
that you can order from Otto Frei.

Cheers,
Simon
