It has been along time since my last watch fix about a year ago. I was thinking about a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Grande Date with the Luminescent dial. Or maybe a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Automatic 500M Calibre 5. What do you think?

If I had to choose between one or the other I would go with the Aquaracer over the Formula 1 Grande Date....even if the Formula 1 was an automatic I like the dial configuration much better on the Aquaracer and i don't particulary like the bezel on the F1.

That said, like any watch, you need to buy the one that you like and not what someone else likes.....just an example...if I was going to spend between $1200 and $1500 on a watch I don't think personally I would buy a Tag, but that is JMHO

I own a 300M aquaracer...but only becuase I was offered a great deal on it.  They are nice watches, but they are overvalued by some due to their advertising presence.  A dive watch with an ETA movement and a 300 or 500M rating is nothing special, and should not call the prices that tags do....but if the aesthetic pleases you then that is what should matter.

A million apologies for being so direct....but my money will never go to a TAG. I can buy lots of other watches at better quality and design levels for the same amount of money. But that's just my own opinion, of course.

+1, that said, I've seen some very nice Tag's but the brand just doesn't do it for me. Just a question of personal taste I guess.

I don't fancy the Tag look either... I specialy didn't like the bracelets with roundy links as they had before...
For me, the price don't make the exclusivity or quality. I agree with Jeff.

Sorry Jack, looks like there is no love for Tags here mistake.gif

Maybe ask the question..."I have $1500 to spend, this is what I'm looking for in a watch, can someone make any suggestions?"

Like i said in my first post, you have to buy what you like, and if you like Tags, then  you should go for it.

One of the many good things about 3T is when you ask a question you will get a real answer, and this is better than every post agreeing with you.
