Hi, anybody ever owned both of these watches? Omega Ploprof and the Ocean7 LM-7.
They are similar in almost every way visually. But hug on the price tag.
Just wondering how good both these watches are. I couldn't really afford the Omega, but the Ocean7 is doable especially a pre owned one.
Any opinions here?

Thanks.
Dave

I have had the good fortune to handle both the Omega reissue and the Ocean 7 homage. While the Ocean 7 is a fine heavy watch with a case and overrall design which clearly are an homage to the Omega it in no way competes witht he Ploprof. The LM-7 is an homage for those who want the look and feel of the Ploprof but aren't in a position to hand over the serious coin needed for the Omega. You should be aware of, and may have noticed looking at LM-7s on the secondary market, that the LM-7 originally came with a 58 click bezel which many had retrofitted to a more realisitic 60 click bezel.

So in short if you want the real deal you better start saving your pennies or playing the Lotto. If you want the look at a more manageable price then the LM-7 is for you. There is clearly no comparison between them beyond the look. The Omega's components make the LM-7 nothing more than a homage.

BTW, how did this question work out for you on that other forum??toon1.gif
