Hey All, I've been a little surprised by no one interested in the Helix Brand. I came across it about 8-9 months ago and was very impressed, as a matter of fact I bought three! One orange strap diver, one black strap and one PVD Chronograph. They are 48mm cases, 990 WR with screw down crowns, backs and Swiss quartz movements. Quality is tremendous for the price. I called the service center here in the States to find out more about them. I was told, they were made from 2007- 2009 for the European market only. Retailed from $250 up to around $400. There was a flood of left overs in the USA, primarily on Ebay that sold for sub $100. They made four models, the Okto being the Divers watch and the most expensive. Here's the Kicker, they were Timex's hi end line made here in the USA with Swiss quartz movements! Follow this link to their web site, its' really Cool. http://www.watchhelix.com/intro.html Rod

sorry but these watches are just inexpensive quartz watches with a low 50m- 100m water resistancy that were never considered Timex hi-line.....these watches sold for under $100. from a few sites and discount stores like K-Mart dating back to 04' here in the states...I'm talking strictly about the original Timex Helix.......it was also released a while back that the warranties were no longer being honored because these are all closeouts dating back to 06'-07' ....again a great looking watch but a G-Shock would serve you better in the quartz category....the Timex Helix Works everyone was hot for years ago was this multi-function diver that many divers used a as back -up ....as far as these newer designs are concerned it is unknown if someone picked up the name "Helix" or not and is producing them....the original Timex Helix was sold as such and had "Timex" on the casebacks if I recall. ![]() Attachment: tx_helix_works_web.JPG (Downloaded 120 times)

I picked up the Octo Chrono on bracelet for $60 and it's the best $60 watch I've ever bought. Very solid case, sapphire crystal and a nice bracelet with ratcheting diver's extension. It's a great knockaround watch. Last edited on Thu Aug 5th, 2010 11:52 am by captobvious |

I agree Mark... Helix probably is great knockaround in the $100. range....but not to be mistaken for the "Timex Helix" of earlier years....these are new watches manufactured by Callanen International out of Newark,Conn. ....a privately owned subsidiary of Timex and were 1st introduced in 2009 using Asian factories to manufacture....they also produce Quess,Mark Ecko,Nautica and many other department store fashion watches...the local TJMaxx has them for &79. ...maybe I better take a better look see.....maybe Rod can post some individual pics....big_eyes.gif

Amazing how people just discount watches based on price and/or movement. I know many people who really like these and they are a tremendous bang for the buck. Excellent bracelet and clasp and small details that many higher priced brands overlook or just dontt have. I loved mine but traded it recently. I will probably pick one up again. From styling to actual real quality these are very very nice watches - especially for under $100 which you can usually find them for. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
