The design looks great with the CuSn8 Bronze case and that Chocolate Brown dial! Love the look. ...the only obvious negatives for me are the wimpy looking crown and 5Atm (really?) water resistance. With a piece such as this, you would hope they would spend a bit extra on getting the crown and water resistance to a palatable level. ...I guess with the 'REGATTARE' reference, Magrette IS emphasizing the Yachting/Sailing aspect of the piece and you aren't really supposed to go to deep depths with this one. Great look though, and the cheapest Bronze cased watch I have seen so far by a large margin. Last edited on Fri Aug 19th, 2011 10:06 pm by stew77 |

I ordered one just for the bronze case...it happens to be the same case as my 7 yr old Swiss Stovard Jurgenson. I plan on swapping the eta/dial and hands from the SJ into the bronze case, which I think will look awesome. Attachment: 04 sunday stovard cusion.JPG (Downloaded 304 times)

That Magrette looks good but sahre Chris' comments on the WR. Atleast a 100m rating would have been more assuring. Good plan, Oscar! That would a good project.

Mod: what I was thinking. The dial doesn't do it for me at all, too much giant text, and do I need to be reminded everytime I look at it to know it's bronze? Looks like a good platform to make an interesting watch from.

Its a sub 400.00 watch it will not be perfect but will open up the bronze cases to the masses.......and they wont have to take second mortgage out to fund it. Heck I ordered it based upon being bronze and the price period.... Last edited on Sun Aug 21st, 2011 06:30 pm by richc1958 |

A 30m WR would hold humidity away and may take water just with a swim... I would say that it's only from 100m and up that the WR is starting to be good enough to use with light water-sports and take small dives in the pool without fear of getting it soaked: IF the 10 bars test is performed properly by the maker.... Keep in mind that you may reach this pressure just by falling in the water while jet-skiing... This understood, the Regattare Bronze is just good for a shower. Read there and you will get it: http://www.deloachwatchservice.com/other_stuff/water_resistancy.htm

I think some WIS put way too much emphasis on WR...not all watches are made to dive with, and honestly, how many of us really dive,or only own 1 watch?

It says it all Oscar: "50 Meters 165 Feet 5 ATM A watch with this level of resistance is wearable around household sinks, while playing sports and while swimming in shallow water. Do not wear it while bathing, snorkeling or scuba diving."
