Booohooo! Disgrace! This is another pale and shameful copy of Kobold! Only Kobold deserve on this earth to use this watch case and you all know it you gimmick lovers! But you promote plagiarism and pirates: Wear the real and ultimate thing before the hand of god punish you with great vengeance!bamby.gif
Ok, I'm jocking: Cool watch in fact! This case is all-over our faces lately: Maybe a bit too much...But well, many been waiting for an affordable version isn't it?

Would you know what brand this is? this brand is made for Howard of westcoastime...Howard is a long time friend of 3T,and a long time WIS,and what you are seeing in price difference between the westcoatime model/Made in Germany is just the price of doing business in Germany over China,no different than the Dievas models compared to Armida....to each his own,as it would seem there is a market at all price ranges....I like the dial layout of the westcoastime model...and since it is made in Germany,by a certain casemaker,it is more Koboldlike than the rest imho.
...a better subject for discussion would be about Fricker cutting loose the Kobold designs...will this hurt Kobold or just make them more desirable, and with so many WIS finger pointing at who stole whoes designs, shouldn't the manufacturers be to blame that so many of the same case designs are popping up all over,or does it matter at all since it opens up a variety of dials, and price ranges?

I agree there with Oscar. A German made case watch should not be expected as low priced as a Hong-Kong one: Origin comes with finish also. Nice to have an alternative there for those who are looking for something a bit more genuine as so to speak.
On my side, I think that Kobold may be hurt by all of that, whatever some people would think about this "untouchable brand" who in my eyes, is only another one who priced up for the reputation...
After all: Would it have been any big place for those new cases coming on the market if Kobold was selling them watches from 1500$ ? NO! Then this niche would have no big reason to exist. This is the revenge I've been waiting for: Kobold can only thanks them self for that new market.
Now, you can have exactly the same specs for 3 times under the price of the Arctic-Diver "Swiss", making you ask if Kobold ever been honest about them pricing policies...
I'm not sorry to be so hard on them as only the truth hurts.

I ran across this one a couple days ago too Trent!

I think the dial and bezel iteration on this one is my favorite of the recent Kobold-flavored tactical divers that have been announced recently.  I like the handset a fair amount too.  Between the case and bezel on this one, it's like the Kobold Seal and Arctic Diver got together and had a baby IMO.  I like it.

Also agree with Oscar's positive comments on Howard at westcoastime...great guy to buy from and deal with...I've bought several Ollech & Wajs pieces from him over the years, and now it looks like he's expanding into having his own boutique branded watches manufactured.

Considering it is built entirely in Germany, the price is actually really good, considering what other companies with this case with theirs "Made in Germany" or anywhere else, other than Armida, are going for...
That said, I think even though the Armida is made in China, Chris, is tightly overseeing quality control on his watches, and compare favorably to German QC

That's a nice watch for a good price. I think I prefer the dial of the Armida personally but it runs a close second.
Price is right

Thumbsup3.gif I personally prefer this one out of all the others, second running up would be the Armida A5. JMO cool.gif

There are some haters of this watch in other forums(especially the KOBOLD SEAL collectors). If this is in fact the same case design down to the microns and the movement is the same as the first offerings of the SEAL, then, dang, this is a no brainer. I've always wanted to try out a SEAL BNIB, but not willing to shell out $4750 for one. This one by Howard is priced perfectly and I am really considering snatching it up in 2012.thumbsup.gif

I agree with another member here that the dial layout is IMO better.

Yeah, they hate it like hell from the deepest of them guts: That's what happen when you feel like you been robed of 3000$...
But it's way too hard to accuse Kobold: It's easier to blame the others, like this they don't feel so bitter when they wear the SEAL.
Even Kobold has some tiny pluses over this WCT version, it would never justify the price difference.
I'm glad that they hate this watch and say it out loud: It just show and confirm how much we was right when we was saying that Kobold was steeling money.
I LOVE IT IN FACT
