Some of you would have seen this about 2 years ago. A concept watch that I dreamed of and never thought it would be realised.

But as you already know, I don't really care how long it takes to get something done (sometimes for the worse). I have continued to persevere, and a couple of months ago, the final technical design was completed.

As it stands, the watch case alone is made of 40 different parts. What you see is but a sample of a prototype to check initial concept designs. The final watch will be closer to the illustrations that we came up with 2 years ago.

The rotating discs have been sorted, and actually ordered, dials have been done, now it's just a matter of getting the prototype case finalised and a dream 2-3 years in the making will be accomplished. Hope you guys like it, this is the first place I'm showing this so be gentle!

I remember seeing these renderings a while back. The renderings really cool. I am really impressed with the actuall thing at this point. Very cool to see it pieced together the way you have it on your wrist. Great work.

Way cool! Too large for my tiny wrists, but love the concept. Best of luck.

I think this is a distinctive case and design. I like it a lot. Would a mesh bracelet add to the look? bravo.gif

Well, this has to be the longest running design I have ever done... I believe it has stretched to 5-6 years now! I can't even remember how many iterations this has gone through. However, after so many changes, failed attempts, unsatisfied designs, we have finally concluded that this is definitely right.

I won't go through the entire development of the watch as it will probably take a book to do that, here are some pictures of how it started out:

The first actual working prototype we completed some 2 years ago:

And after many moons, crazed nights, maybe some chemically induced states of mind, we finalised the design! You will notice the major differences and shifts in design if you compared the left and right image:

1) The case shape is greatly changed to a more angular base that cuts the size down from 55mm to 49mm. The corners are greatly shaved to make it more wearable and integrated with the tapering strap.
2) The pusher is now externalised and made more prominent to match the crown.
3) The rotating disc is only used on the main time as you can't adjust the minute display individually. It also increases legibility.
4) The 'exo frame' is reduced in size and the 4 screws are integrated into the lug design.

Overall, the design is 'tighter', more refined and finished and the reduced case size gives more prominence to the 4 dials. It has been an adventure with this design, we are just glad it is finally finished. Final confirmation prototype is being made now, once done it won't be long before we can launch it.

Another year passes, but this time, things are different. If you go back to the start of the thread, and read the time stamp on that, you'll realise that it has been SIX years since we started this design. There is a sense of relief, tinged with some disbelief, but eventually all good things (and bad) have to come to an end.

The official range of this model has been changed to the Exotica. The first is the twin timer and we will soon launch another called the Incognito named after our favourite Acidjazz (I'm old) band. It will be made in a dark blasted titanium case and forged carbon with blue highlights. We settled on titanium as a case material so that the watch was a decent weight despite it's size.

Wrapping up this chapter, as we owe it to everyone that has followed the development of this model since the beginning, officially announcing the arrival of the moVas Exotica Twin Timer:

Just an early working prototype shot:

and a wristie:

I am proud that we did not let this go, did not believe the naysayers and those who were laughing at us along the way. To all the dreamers out there never give up no matter what. To all the haters in the world leave us alone, B.D.K.M.V
