Very interesting, Oscar. Too bad it's a quartzie but it looks really nice.

not just a regular quartzie Jeff, but a thermo-compensated Super Quartz...Breitling has not designated a quartz movement the "Super Quartz" tag since 2002,and being thermo compensated it can adjust to temps...the Caliber 73 is about 20 times more accurate than a normal quartz, about 15 sec. per year, and this new chrono can be used at extreme depths 2000 meters.I hope a pic of this movement is posted somewhere as I suspect it will be quite impressive..![]()

Oh, I remember now...a Super Quartz. I read about it some time back when it was discussed on 3T. I think one of us on 3T has it on an Accutron....unsure though. If a high end quartzie is +/- 2 to 10 seconds a year, I wonder how this one will fare? Amazing.

the quartz in the Accutron is not thermocompensated, and called a hi-efficency rather than SuperQuartz...a better comparison would be the OysterQuartz that Rolex produced in a limited quantity that I balked at buying for $2500. 7 years ago and now goes upward of $7000. if you can find one....what sets the Breitling apart from others is that it is a chronograph, and that the chrono function can be used underwater to depths of 2000m.![]()

Retail North of $4000 US but can be found now and then for less on sale. Would be quite the Divers tool watch.

I think it is a nice looking watch, but I have hard time parting with what they are asking for given it is a quartz movement. I am sure one day in the future I will wishing I had bought one when it is worth as much as a new Rolex. ;-)
