Christopher Ward has just announced the new one pusher chrono based on a Unitas 6497 hand cranker movement!  Beautiful design, with column wheel mechanicals for the chronograph function.  This is awesome in my book!
Check it out here: http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dress/c900-single-pusher/c900swkr.html

I agree it is a awesome watch with a sweet monochrono movement which could have been finished nicer imho, but at $4000.usd,and extra for a premium box?...I'll wait to see how it does on the pre-owned sales market.ThumbsUp02.gif

I agree but when you compare it to a Tudor selling the same price with a simple ETA movement...Even if Tudor has a longer history than CW...
At list this CW has a 6497 with a very special "handcrafted" modification and is limited to 250 pieces.
The only thing is that the movement could have blue screws and other decorations on the bridges: Finish is important, specially when there is a glass back and you ask this price.

I don't believe this is the 1st time someone has modded a 6497 to being a chrono movement, but I do know that Tudor does not use a base eta...the eta used in the Tudor is a top grade modified with KIF shock system, same shock as Rolex,so simple it isn't imho, and come on...CW is not even in the same hemisphere as Tudor...I like the CW ,but for $4000. I would rather have this chrono on my wrist...ThumbsUp02.gif

I'm not defending CW there. But the 3 points KIF shock system is not buying me for Tudor.
Chronoswiss, Alpina and others been doing mods on the 6497 but it never went as far as a one pusher chrono.
For sure this achievement is not the moon and it seems like CW wanted to reach some spheres with it. Again, I agree that the price is high but for those who wonder about the famous KIF, here is a pic who will show that this feature is not so much as it seems and certainly don't deserve to be compared to the work of the 2 men who conceived this CW chrono.

This told, I'm not here to bash Tudor: I was just naming it because between yesterday and today, I saw one Pelagos and one Black-Bay hitting 4-5000 buks and it's just funny as hell for me who don't worship Rolex or them under products as it was falling from the hands of a god...
You get me there I hopetoon1.gif
As for what I could get for 4K: YES, I'm with you about the Speedy or even another comparable snack!
Here you go for a B.Bay: 4000$ in Norway with today's change.

it's obvious my only beef is price, there is just too much out there at $4000. I would rather have...on another note CW also released a C9 Harrison Jump Hour in 2011/pre-order with a eta 2824 movement also modded by Jahnke...it cost $1500.,but I am not sure if anyone has one yet,if I am wrong perhaps someone who has one can add to the discussion.ThumbsUp02.gif

Yes, been reading old posts about that on WUS.
Apparently for those who handled the watch or was close to Gunter Steinhart at the time, it would be an expensive model because...Well, read the link...
Seems like CW got it's hands on it first or maybe Steinhart gave up as the production price was too high?

and if final production was too costly than Steinhart made a wise decision imo...a micro brand at $4000.?...now if it had Tudor on the dial I would be in!dog smile.gif
