I'm always looking for some interesting stuffs and this price chart was something like that. You have it all: The PDF, Excel version and even the evolutive buying power of a US$ and the inflation rate calculator for the USA. An exemple I calculated: Stainless Submariner Date - 1680/16610. Price in march 1982 : 1175$ Price in october 2008 : 6000$ Calculated price from 1982 to today's buying power : 2870$ Calculated price from 2008 to today's buying power : 6558$ Enjoy the link... http://www.minus4plus6.com/PriceEvolution.htm

It gives an insight of how prices been doubled through time even if you considerate or add the rise of "buy power" during those years as well as the fluctuation of the inflation. Personally , I've always seen the new Sub/date being worth around 4000$. Considering what performances it offer(300m), the branding history(108 years old), in-house factor and the high mass production with it's effectivity who's reached by no one in the industry. They cost 9000$ now (116610V green) So I was somehow glad that the numbers added up to show me that I wasn't far from the "reality" that would have existed if Rolex did follow a normal path. Considering the upgrading the 1680/16610 been submitted when replaced by the new 116610V. I bet that they will always push the prices until the sells are stagnating, closely followed by a tightly regulated production...As usual.
