Has anyone in here ever purchased a Tommy Bahama Watch OR know someone who has? I wonder if they're any good. I know they're quartz 'n everything, but I kinda like some of their designs ... Especially this "5-O'Clock Somepace" GMT/World Timer ...
It's 285 smackaroo's from http://www.herringtoncatalog.com, but I'm sure it "can be had" elsewhere for a little less deniro.
Comments? Advice?? Pinapple slice??? Last edited on Wed Jul 5th, 2006 04:48 pm by Doofus |

Never purchased one, although I like many of their offerings. I like the "Pineapple" dial colors and especially the straps. That being said, what I can't get past is the pricing. They seem totally overpriced, therefore, I have gone without. Most of their models also seem a bit small, too. Jim

No - they're manufactured by the Geneva Watch Group in the Far East using Swiss movements. The designs reflect a long weekend vacation beach motif. I was kind of drawn to the Panama Pilot watch and the Silver Safari watch as they are both meant as a homage to well known luxury watch brands. Tommy Bahama is good value for the money. The watches I have are 42 mm in size. They're quartz but they're stylish and well made.

Question is it the Geneva Watch Group that is owned by David M.? Croton was a purchase for his in the early 90's, but his involvement in manufacturing of watches dates back before that, I believe.

I see these Tommy Bahama watches at Steinmart for around $50+, look decent enough but I cant wear a branded watch unless im wearing the clothes as well!(you have to see me walking around with my Invicta shirt and backpack when I wear my Invictas!)

I like some of the Tommy Bahama watches as well, but I also find them extremely overpriced. Croton has its own "Tropics" line that's much more reasonably priced.
