picked this up on the bay for a best offer price. I like the color and massive size plus the 23 jewel movement and a real map reading function. plus it weighs in at 220 grams. what do you guys think about this as a beater?

Nice pickup and prob a good beater for the price.  I've looked at those too.  I was thinking of getting the blue dial one in ss/gunmetal.  Let me know how you like it.

different colors, different prices. I really want the platinum colored one but the prices are all over the place on these. I got this one with the full package.

the map reader will help. its at the right scale for topo maps. I saw one at the mall here. very heavy and nice.
