I'm sure some here will have some solutions, but I would either live with the scratches as you have been, take it to a jeweler, or invest in a new crystal. Here is one link on getting scratches out: http://www.bhi.co.uk/hints/crystal.htm

I think replacing a crystal is a good way to to go. I use a number of compounds to do custom cars that can also be used for glass, aluminium,ti,etc. The whole surface needs to be brought down to the lowest point of the scratch. If you just sand one area, you will leave a divot which looks worse than a scratch. jmo. the crystal is very small. on a car, you can feather it into the surrounding surface and no one will ever know.

My Glycine F-104 had some niks on the crystal and was buffed out but the scars were still there...replacement is the only way to go if you have any OCB's like me...bugged the crap out of me knowing they were there!:D:D
