that this is what I found on the Lindburgh & Benson (Schaumburg) site: AQUAMATIC CHRONOMETER Ref. No.02 -3300 ft / 1000 M Case: water-resistant 3300 ft / 1000 M, steel, brushed, sapphire crystal, Helium valve, diver bezel, screwed-in crown with protective horns, screw-on back, Diameter: 42 mm Movement: automatic, SW-05.1A C.O.S.C, Swiss Made, Finish: rhodium plated, plates circular grained, Cótes de Genéve, Band: 24 mm, buffalo leather, pierced, black, hand made, and 24 mm steel band and diver silicon band, (black) Now, doesn't it mean that they're using a Sellita movement in these watches? Too bad, as I was thinking of getting one. Not a big fan of diving watches, but really liked the size and look of the Aquamatic COSC-certified 1000m diver.

Appears to be the case. I know there is some concern overthe new movements, but I own 3 watches with it and have not had a problem...they also seem to be very accurate.

Not for me when a watch of equal value could be had with a eta movement I would go with the eta over a Selitta anydayhand6.gif Big difference when the Selitta comes in a under $300. watch compared to a $1000. and above to me....even a $300. and above:D Although mine seem to be running fine I have 2 sw-200 in $200.-$300. Invictas running fine at +15 for 1 and the COSC at +11 but another in a $600.+ Bathys at +45 sec. the Invictas are much lower right out of the box and for the $ I would rather buy a Invicta with a Selitta for much less money watch2.gif all 3 have sticking crowns/stems with trouble adjusting the date and winding....I should say it just takes more time to get to the proper function :( I agree with your point RK ...eta over Selitta if it's for the same $ although I hear Selittas will be used more widely now:shock:

What I was trying to say is that the Selitta Co. has been around since the 50's....assembling and selling eta movemnets using eta parts.The new SW line they are manufacturing/selling are only about a year old and have no eta parts at all...they are clones and although technically the same as the eta the Selitta SW's are untested by the consumer as of yet.If we are to compare Selitta and eta we should be comparing Selitta to the Asian eta we have been discussing for years!....at this point I would take the more widely used and proven Asian eta over a less used and non-proven Selitta and when Watch Co.'s like Glycine and and others can offer you a watch with a true eta movement at a reasonable price compared to some using the Selitta SW line at more $ why take a chance until they are as proven for reliabilty as the eta:)

Still, a number of quality companies are using Selitta movements-- Oris, Icklers two brands: Limes and Archimede, for example, due to the continuing long wait times for ETA movements (Swatch is probably just trying to squeeze the competition). I read over at WUS, that the word from Basel is that there's a predicted big shortage of Valjoux movements for 2008-- which means the wait times (and eventually the prices of watches) will be going up.

All this is opening the doors much wider for other movements too, the Japan and Russian movements do very good not to mention other Asian movements over about the past 2 or 3 years. Going to get very interesting from here on out I would dare say.

A major short coming of Poljot and Vostok russian movements has been the lack of a quick set date feature, but I've heard new Vostok Europe watches will contain an upgraded Vostok movement with a quickset date feature. If something like that could be done to the Poljot 3133 chrono movement, then it would be a great hand wind alternative to the much more expensive Valjoux 7750.

I'm still in the eta camp for movements. Since my collection is stocked with the Swiss movements, I'll keep combing over the used market for the watches I want. The nice ones pop up every day.
