I had mentioned in a earlier thread that Rick fom Doxa  has graciously donated a few of Dr.Millars new Doxa Book to 3T ...Many Thanks to Rick,Doc Pete and Doxa S.AThe staff has been discussing ways to use the books in contests....one being a photo Contest(naturally) but another idea to get new members as well as our well seasoned members to post was a Contest for the "member with the most posts in 10days!"To enter all a member would have to do is post in the thread which will read "Doxa Book Contest" which will automatically show and lock the amount of posts you have at that time...you must post in this thread to be eligible....for the next 10 days members can post as usual in any thread as well as use the contest thread for a little competitive funAt the end of 10 days all who entered will have their posts counted and the 3T member with the most posts at the end of 10 days wins an "advanced copy" of the Doxa BookThe opinions we need are for a Start and End Time as we have members from around the World here at 3T in different time zones....so this thread is open for members to chime in...We would like to start this contest ASAP so let's here what everyone has to sayparty.gif

The POW winner should receive a coplientary book immediately.

A DOXA photo contest...YES!!

AndI don't like the post count contest... it smacks of the forums where post count is King and ecourages members to be little more than post whores...

JMHO

See next post for examples of post whoring...

It's not meant to be "where posts are king":D it's meant to encourage members who don't post out and get involved in the forumhand6.gif and a good example of a post that won't count is above watch2.gif...TY Paxtoon1.gif

I am the post whore king! I shall bow out of this competition to make way for new members who will post.

Maybe the contest should exclude some of us? Its a nice book, but maybe the contest should be for new members only. I would love to watch the competition and participate as a instigator to keep the posts coming in?

As long as you are still kicking this around, how about making your contest DOXA specific?

Create a temporary Doxa forum and require posters to come up with at least 5 interesting facts about the company or their watches (in one post). After the 5 facts post, the more posts posted, the greater the chances to win.

Run it for a couple of weeks and then pick a winner.

Here's my opinion.............

As far as the contest....make it a Timetechtalk WIS of the month.......let forum members nominate individuals, then we can vote..give a small prize and a space achievment
