Found a nice deal on a Bond SMP in an antiques store, of all places.

My question for you guys is this: Am I crazy to think that I can size this bracelet myself?  I have heard horror stories, but I don't live near an Omega AD or a jewler I really trust.

Anybody ever do this themselves?

I may just put it on a NATO and wait until I can get to an AD then, since I'll have to wear it right away.

I dunno, I sized mine without any trouble. No more difficult than a Seiko bracelet...

Oh, and congrats on the new Omega! hand6.gif

Well, the question is moot.

I went to buy the watch and found the rotor was making a but too much noise for my taste....then I gave the watch a good WIS shake and it stuck fast so I said no thank you.

Watchus interruptus!

Now I need to know what to do with this money.......hmmmm

Awww, bummer! :(

Better to learn that BEFORE buying it, though...

I am really starting to wonder if something happened to the watch since the last time I looked at it on Saturday.

I picked it up then, gave it a couple of winds and it started right up.  Shook it around a bit and it felt fine.

Today it took 15-20 winds to get it going and then there was the rotor thing.

I wonder if it got dropped.

No harm no foul and lucky you didn't purchase it. There will always be another SMP... or any number of watches to drop the fund on... Glad it didn't turn into much more than a minor bummer...

Well, it's back on.

Got home last night and saw a Bond SMP on Bernard Watch's sight that was newer and in better shape so I pulled the trigger.

Should be here tomorrow!

Got it today!

Sized it myself.....not difficult at all.  I actaully think it was easier than doing a Seiko bracelet because the tubes stay in place once you join the links together.

This one is much newer than the other one I looked at and it was interesting to note the improvements that have been made over the years.

Most specifically in the crown/stem area.  The newer SMP is quit a bit more stout.
