Hello 3T Fellas...

I am thinking of getting a "Swiss Army Ambassador XL"  like what Steve got but I would like to know first  the thickness and lug size of this watch.

Thanks in advance...

Hi Nando...   it's a 45mm wide case not including crown, with 22mm lugs.  Am guessing on the thickness at around 13mm, but will check it out and let you know for sure.

I've always admired the look of these. Really clean! Good luck on the quest, Nando!

That's a bit wide huh!

It's good to hear that the lug size is 22mm unlike my SA Chrono Pro that has 21mm lugs. Very hard to find strap replacement.

Thanks for the info Steve...

Thanks Steve.

I couldn't understand why SA/Victorinox is not following the standard lug measurement.

Why not make it 22mm or 24mm instead of 23mm?

I confirm that the measure is 23 mm but I don't know why not 22. Every 45 mm models of VSA are 23 mm, Airboss, Ambassador, Alpnach.

You could find pictures and specifications here:

Well, you all made me go dig through one of my boxes and find the Swiss Army I have. It has a 21mm strap on it that has been narrowed at the lugs to 19mm. It is the original Swiss Army strap that came with the watch. My Wife's Wenger has a 16mm band on it.

Which model have you in 21 mm ? An Ambassador ? Maybe you have the Day & Date 42 mm ? Ambassador XL Chrono is 23...I'm sure !

For the sickness, only a picture (not mine)

Oh, I don't have an Ambassador. It is an old quartz model. I don't really even know the model name.

For Ambassador XL (first question): 45mm diameter, 15mm height, 51mm lug to lug and 23mm strap

Your model is nammed "Original" an Active Collection and always exist.
