I just picked this up on a whim from Duarte.  He installed a sapphire and new crown on it, and tipped the second hand red.  Otherwise it is new.  Just curious what to expect from this piece?  Good quality? What type of movement does it have?  In general, how are Trias watches and are they really German or German/Chinese?

Pretty sure that's an Asian model. I know CJ had a similar model and it was a real workhorse and helluva beater!! Obviously the stap is gonna go, no?

At the pricepoint for an auto, I figured it houses an asian movement.  Yes the strap looks dreadful.  I actually bought it "head only" from Duarte, as I have a selection of 22mm straps and bracelets to try on it.

They supposedly use a decent Chinese auto movement.  One way to find out for sure - pop the hood on that puppy and take some pics;  the guys around here can tell ya for sure.  hand6.gif

Yup, Asian model. Very nice, quite reliable. There was an issue in a batch last year where the screw down back interfered with the rotor spinning.

Enjoy!

Thanks-
Marc
