Being a WIS ain't easy,as I'm sure most here will agree.

Have you everhad a watch brand that you really liked until you buy one-then ,for some reason, don't keep it?

For me it's Oris.

Inexplicably I have owned 4 (original All Steel Big Crown-Big Crown Divers Regulator- Willuams F-1 team Racing and the Lumi dial Ti Diver.)

For some odd reason I ended up selling them all within a year of ownership and I don't know why. They were very appealing at the time of purchase but Oris seems to lose its luster for me after a while.

Same with Tag Heuer. I only have one now from the 6 I have owned.

( I still have all the hats these guys have given me though)

I think I am in the minority, but I don't like Oris. My cousin has a dress Oris, very nice, keeps great time but has that weird lug size. I love the divers' dials/bezels/hands (especially the Carlos Coste), but the doughnut look of the case just turns me off. I dunno, just me I guess, I realize they make a high quality watch but I wouldn't buy one though if someone gave me one I wouldn't turn it down!

Have to agree with you Foghorn, Oris seems to do everthing right but leaves you a bit empty at the end of the day..coupled with there atrocious resale.........I dont know what to make of the brand:?

I don't have any problems with Oris - I think they are very unique and stylish watches, although I only have one, a TT1 Titan 1000m with the carbon fiber dial (before they changed over to the less attractive wave dial, imho).

One watch that I own which has never grown on me is the Seiko Monster.  I know it has reached iconic status on the various forums, but I can't get over how the hands look cheap, the case is a mishmash of brushed and polished, and despite being called "Monster" it really isn't that big.  Its not a bad watch, but I just can't wear it for more than a few hours before picking another watch up.

For me it is Omega. I have had 3 Seamasters and moved them all within 6 months. Quality pieces for sure but I just can't warm up to them. It is just a size and style thing. I like them chunkier. I don't think I would feel the same about a PO though. I imagine if I bought one of those it would change my mind.

I have the same feeling about the Monsters. I've owned three and sold all of them with next to no wear.

For me it seems to have been Zodiac.  I had a Seawolf (300m) and an Oceanaire (yellow dial); and while I 'liked' them, they didnt get hardly any wrist time and have moved on.  :?

Yes I wanted a Oris so bad and waited a year to get the Regulator.  The minute I put it on my wrist I knew (it was to small) but I tried for several weeks to convince myself, even when I was driving down the road I would look into my drivers side mirror telling myself I liked it, and saying to myself the watch was big enough for me.  After the 4th week I sold it to a friend.  My plan was to get the Carlos Coste, but then I found this place (3T forum) and of course I started liking Enzo, Orsa, Ocean7, Ball and yes Kenzo.  Yes I still like Oris.  I think this is what happen to me recently, when I got my Enzo. I put it on and said ya this is awesome, but a couple of days went by and I seen something else, that does were big Ocean7 LM-1E, and I am working (putting in the hours of overtime to get) on getting, so I thought I better sell the Enzo, while it still has the just came from the factory brand new look.  After couple of days went by and my wife telling me "the watch looks huge on your wrist and unique", I decided to keep it, after making a deal with my wife to keep it.    party.gif

I guess now is the time to tell you guys this, I got started with watches about 3 years ago watching SHOPNBC, yes listing to the great Jim jim.s, hehehehe well on with the story I must of purchased 45 watches in that time frame and thank my lucky stars for SHOPNBC return policy, I returned every one of them except that Subaqua Nomo II I just sold yesterday, yayayayay I am done, no more Invicta.  I feel free, yes free liberated.  I sent that Subaqua in for service, it took 72 days just to get it back, yes free.  Yes I admitted it I started out watching SHOPNBC, I thought I was learning from the "GREAT JIM jim.s"wow wow hehehe, well I am sad to say I had to cut JIM and eyalo or what ever his name is from Invicta louse.  So there is a Sunday story for you guys.  Hey I have not drank any beer today, so you hear ed the story straight from the top.
