Hey guys-

Never purchased anything from ShopNBC before, but I got the itch and pulled the trigger on something yesterday.

What is up with their "expect delivery by" date policy? I've never come across an e-tailer that assigned such a seemingly random date for delivery like this.

In this case, they're saying two weeks out. Does internal processing/order picking/packing/shipping take that long?

I don't really mind a wait in this case, not a biggie, just wondering if there's any method behind their madness.

Anyone care to comment on their experiences with shipping from this outfit? I cringe at the thought of that Jim Skelton guy finishing up his on-air shift then heading out back to the warehouse to get orders shipped out..... :D

(In any case, they sure were quick to charge my CC!)

Thanks-

Scott

Hey Scott,

The delivery date is the estimated arrival time. I assume you knew that:D

You can probably expect your item a few days before the expected date, and in most cases no later. The delay may also be because you bought an advance order item...which I think means, they dont have the item in stock, they take preorders, call the supplier with the total then get them shipped.

I am surprised that they hit your credit card before shipping. I've never had that happen. You might want to check into that.

Tony

Basically, they sell the watch based upon promises from the watch's supplier that the watch will be available. They are 'pre-selling' before actually having stock.

Everything I ever bought from them I received within 4 days unless it was a preordered item. It sounds like you bought a pre-ordered item. I am only guessing though as I haven't bought anything from them in well over a year.

I have never had a bad shopping experience using ShopNBC so I wouldn't worry. They have even been very good about accepting returns.

Thanks guys.

Well, we'll see what happens. Haven't gotten any sort of e-mail beyond the initial order confirmation, but I still think it's odd that they don't provide additional explanation as to why the date is what it is. I mean, at least state that it's a pre-order or inbound from the manufacturer or whatever. (Or waiting for a previous customer to return one so they can re-sell it....oy vey. )

Starting to irritate me ever so slightly that they didn't hesistate a whit to charge me, so maybe I'll call them.

I ordered a watch from shopnbc two months ago for a friend. We got the same message. After waiting a little over 3 weeks, I just cancelled the order for him.

I have had good, bad, and really bad luck with shopnbc.
