party.gifWhile over at WUS Omega forum found an Omega AD doing 50% off list...he's telling Omega to take a hike!! Told the wife it would be a good time to pick up the big 50 watch...which is in 2 yrs and 2 weeks....She said go for it....but as fate would have it the AD is all out....Darn!!!....So the wife said what the heck get it now...must be feeling good after I got her a new Honda Odyssey....I like three watches..they are as follows...........

She really likes the moon to mars....I like the colors..... So has anyone felt, held, etc any of these watches and what are your opinions.....believe it or not my wife is excited about it.....so I really looked over the new van incase she got into a fender bender....smile8.gifsnoopy1.gifparty.gif

All pic's stolen from other forums!!!

I've tried on the Planet Ocean on strap and love it.  The speedy is a little small for me, but if I were looking for a 'birthday' watch, I personally would go for the Moon to Mars for the novelty and cool look...

Happy birthday in advance... mine's in 4 wks and am gonna have a Ball I think - I hit the 5-0 next year... :?

I recently got a PO and it was one of the best watch buying decisions I ever made.

I was back and forth about it until I finally held one and wore it.

It's surprisingly hefty (211 grams with 3 links removed) and fits like a glove.

Mine is the 45mm case but it 'plays' a bit smaller.

I also like the co-axial movement and the fact that  (it is said) that it can go 10 years before needing servicing.

Gregger if you are going to spend that kind of coin on a Omega that believe it or not has Asian parts throughout the line like cases, bracelets etc.... terrible CS...and probably why most AD jewelers are leaving them my personal choice would be a Rolex...at least it will still be worth what you paid for it in 2yrs. when you are 50!....watch2.gif

I vote for the P.O. for day in day out long term use. But agree with Oscar about considering other brands i.e. a Breitling SuperOcean. You should be able to pick one up for around $2100.

I'm not a Rolex kinda guy.....Don't want the guys at work to say WTF is he trying to prove! Besides I think Rolex's are twice the cost of the Omega's I posted....I've also read that most old swiss co's are taking on Asian parts...that's one way to make mo money:D

G...I don't know what a Rolex kinda guy is :D I do know what a WIS kinda guy is though and from day 1 regardless of price we have all been drawn to the classic Rolex dive watch design....it has influenced every watch manufacturer there is including Omega.....homage,homage,homage and what do you see?.......a Rolexhand6.gif You can buy a Submariner for the same price as a Planet Ocean but like any purchase personal taste always ruleswatch2.gif

Given the choices here I would go with the PO first, moon to mars second, and the speedy last. JMO!!

I am 200% agree with O about how WORST the CS of Omega is. My friend got his first Omega and damaged the date for some reason. He took it to the local Omega service center 3 months ago and until now the watch is still with them. They keep on telling my friend that they are still waiting for the parts coming from Switzerland:(

Though I also like the 42mm Black/Black PO the bad CS of Omega stops me from buying it.

Just buy what you want man. I can't offer you any advise of the choices you posted as I would buy the PO as I don't like chrono's. I can add to the camp that I am not an Omega fan either but I don't want to try to talk you out of one. Get what you want.

^^  I'm with Scuba-buy what makes you happy.  I've worn my friends Planet Ocean and it was one of the most comfortable bracelet watches I've tried. Felt solid, heft, reassuring. Needless to say I didn't want to give it back but reluctantly did.  It looks great on my wrist and probably would do yours as well.  I never paid much attention to Omega until I wore the PO and boy I want one now.  As far as service goes-I guess you have to ask yourself how patient you can be if something goes wrong?  Good luck and congrats on your future acquistion whatever it is.
