While at a Ball AD today, they were having a Franck Muller event - with a rep from the company showing off some of their finest pieces. The complications on these watches were amazing, and they didnt mind demonstrating them (after putting on white gloves to handle the watches that is)... This one was my favorite, the Irregular Retrograde Hour.

The hours are read on the inner semi-circle. The hour hand moves slower from 8-12 and 2-6; it jumps from 7 on the right to the 7 on the left - very cool to see (why? read below). Specifications:
- Reference: 7880 HIR L S6
- Movement: Self-winding mechanical movement
- Movement dimensions: 26.60 mm ; width : 5.60 mm
- Display: Irregular hour in retrograde sector placed on the upper part of the dial. There is a smaller or a bigger gap between the hours according to their importance. For instance, there is a bigger gap between the hours of lunch break from 12 noon to 2 pm than during working hours. The minutes are continuous. The moon phases and the small second hand are placed at 6 o'clock.
- Power reserve: 42 h
- Frequency: 28'800 v/h
- Number of components: 158
- Number of jewels: 21
- Movement decoration: Ctes de Genve, circular graining, diamond polishing.
- Dial: Sun-stamped translucent lacquered dial in white, black or blue.
- Case: Cintre Curvex in 18 carat gold
- Strap: Hand-sewn alligator
Course needless to say, it didn't come home with me...
