Hi.  Alot depends on which model Trias you are looking at.  If you can, please post a picture of it and you'll get more detailed advice on it I'm sure.

But, in general, Trias is a lower-spectrum German brand who manufacturers in China and often uses Chinese movements - but sometimes uses the Citizen Miyota movement.
________
(Edit:  They also have a Swiss-Made line that I was unaware of when I originally did this post.  My comment below is only regarding the non-Swiss models).
________

Am I ambivalent about Trias watches??  Well, yes and no.  Some models have a very attractive design and are probably worth the investment.  But for other models there are better options out there for roughly the same price range.  My best recommendation is that if you do choose a Trias, you are wise to purchase from a reputable dealer such as the respected Long Island Watch (who do have a very nice selection on their website by the way).

Trias also makes some SWISS MADE pieces.  On other forums, a lot of German Watch fans poo-poo the brand, since a lot (not all) of their stuff is sourced in Asia.  I owned one (see below) that I bought from one of the Sponsors here (Marc, Long Island Watchges) who was a pleasure to deal with.  I had bad luck with mine, it stopped workin after a few months.  Ironically enough, it was one of their SWISS-MADE versions!  When i brought this issue to Marc's attention, he got me directly in touch with TRIAS in Germany, they honored their warranty 1000%, fixed the watch, and had it back to me within a month.  Can't ask for more than that!!

Like a true WIS, after getting it back, i then sold it to fund another purchase!  yourock.gif

If you like the Brand, buy a Trias confidently from Marc, he was great to deal with.  Here's my old one, the Cushion case model, on a Hirsch Liberty.

Oops...  P.S>  I love that Mont Blanc in your Avatar.  I don't know why they aren't more popular.  Very sleek dial designs, IMO!!!

This is only partially true...I have owned 3 Swiss Made Trias for over 2 years.  The fit and finish is outstanding, and the Unitas movements have functioned flawlessly.  There is very little that is Swiss Made that can beat their price....yes, they do have Asian made time pieces as well.  I have owned one, and while I did not keep it for long, it was an excellent watch for the money and I had no problems with it!  Long Island Watch is the way to go!!!

Good to know this.  I am generally unfamiliar with the Swiss Trias pieces.  I do have to say they have alot of interesting designs and the two lower-end Trias models that I do have run well with no issues.

I actually kind of regret that i sold my Trias now.  As far as the whole Trias collection goes, a lot of the Japanese based models are more appealing to me, overall.

Another hand6.gif for Marc at Long Island Watch and another hand6.gif for Trias. Also bought a Trias off eBay that the German seller called the "München" model, a skeleton. I put a Louisiana alligator strap on it and it looks like a $2,000. piece! cool10.gif
