I think that I am going to go with the Sinn. Now I have to decide whether to shell out for a new one or wait for a used one.

Since the Ploprof isn't made anymore, though, I kind of saw it as emulation rather than a knockoff. It's a project between the company and WUS members, I think, so not you're usual knockoff, at least. :)

Okay, I'll "buy" into "emulation" or "homage", but as most of the other Ocean7 products, the end result always looks like someone else's product...why collaborate...why not just open a watch catalog, point and 'private label" it! (but this one is still ugly...imo...others, of course, will like it) :D.

True. And yes, it's an ugly duckling but then I never thought the Ploprof particularly beautiful but I still love it...![]()

Canadajo, didn't I see you involved with the LM7 thread somewhere? Are you grabbing one?

I have owned every watch you listed, this year, the only one I have left is the U1 It is unique in that Sinn with SUG makes their own cases and the tegimented bezel is very durable, plus the sub steel is kind of cool Things to remember: 1.The beadblasted finish is difficult to "fix" if scratched, althought the finish is durable 2. It really looks the best on the bracelet, weird it doesn't do much for me on leather or zulu, the rubber bracelet is nice, but SS bracelet is great 3. Lume is good , not as brilliant as Kenzo 4. The crystal has external AR coating which shows fingerprints and can scratch, when clean it is undetectable 5. The dial design is unique and well done, U2 more busy IMHO 6.U1 tends to hold value well and easily flipped, their prices keeping going up especially with weak USD Kenzo is nice design if you like the hands, excellent lume. case is nice Fricker design but not unique. i also think this watch looks best on SS, but nato/zulu works. Enzo especially EM001 is a beautiful watch, sourced common case, I personally do not like protruding HRV. Enzo is such a pleasure to work with and hopefully he has something in the works. The LM6 is Asian case nicely finished, it does do it for me I must admit. If you throw in used watches : I personally think the UTS 500/1000m series is a great design and comfortable to wear very tool like, bulletproof, also unique handmade case which I like. If homage is your thing check out MKII incredible value and so accurate, long wait for custom job, love that Sea Fighter out eds Last edited on Mon Jan 7th, 2008 07:36 pm by esantelli |
