The index and numbers on the back are used in conjunction with calculated values from the rotating bezels on the front (The caseback graph denotes cross wind angles in degrees, the y-axis is crosswind component in mph, the left side denotes the headwind component in mph, and right side denotes the tailwind component in mph)....the detail on this goes on and on and, I have taken no effort to really understand how to do the calculations my friend... ...so functional, yes ....practical, definitely not happy.gif
