Excellent selection for Father's day. Love both watches and that 2254 is just amazingly versatile. Have you tried the PO? I am tempted by the XL version black bezel but am wondering if I'd like it better than the 2254 and end up dumping it.

Well Brice, the SM has a mvt 1120 and the PO has a 2500 who is a 1120 with co-axial escapement upgrade and also 4 jewels added.
From outside look, they look the same except that the 1120 has an index(typical ETA design) on it's balance-cock and the 2500 doesn't...
The 2500 also has regulating stud-screws on it's balance and the 1120 doesn't.
All in all, the 2500 is a very advanced 1120 and also need less oil/service due to it's co-axial escapment: I would go for the 2500 in front of a 1120 without any doubt.
But if you prefer the SM look: It's out in co-axial version now
ThumbsUp02.gif
PS: I got both mvt at home and can give you pics if you need...

Thanks Brice!!thankyou.gif  ...hey, congrats on that Hagar arrival and glad to hear that you are happy with the build quality given the very economical price of entry!  Looks great on that 'heavy' weave Nato!!!thumbsup.gif

Regarding the PO...I have never tried it, but would still say that the PO XL is definitely still on my wish list for sure.  My opinion...there is definitely room for BOTH, as I find the PO and 2254.50 very different in look.  I still think that the 2254.50 is one of those amazing/classic pieces that just never will go out of style...it's timeless IMO, and a piece that I could definitely see passing down to my son.  As you already know, the 2254.50 can play dressed-up or dressed-down and can pull of sporty too and looks great on the bracelet or the omega rubber strap.

The PO is just a more polished and dressy piece IMO (everything from the raised, placed indices, to the hands style, to the case/bezel design complete with a much more modern bezel/dial font)...I have seen many pics of it on the omega rubber where it seems to be able to play the "sport" side pretty well, but since I've never seen one in person, I can only base my opinion and perception on the pics I've seen.

Because of the many differences, I think Both could play well in a collection.

Why don't you try one first, and let me know what you think amigo???!!! happy guy.gifthumbsup.gif

Happy Father's day all!

My Father's day watch landed yesterday and I was patient, waited until today to open the box and wear it :-)

Loving this Hager Commando, affordable but very well made, I am very pleased!

Brice, Congrats on this Hager. I like it and like it better in real world pictures that you posted. I think it looks great on Nato/Zulu. Will be glad if you could post a lume pic.
Enjoy it in good health, amigo./size]thumbsup.gif

William and Chris, thanks for the kind words on my watch. Chris, it's so hard to keep up with today's 15 year old daughters....they're a whirlwind of activity, music and shopping /size]subtlelaugh.gif

Afternoon switch to the Sub in 2 tone for the afternoon trip to the fish market for the dinner barbie.

There's been some media traffic on Omega's new Liquid Metal. It's a great blend of space age materials and a step up on the movement.

Would anybody on 3T have any views on this very promising unit from Omega?

Thanks guys!!
The hager case is much nicer than I expected and it winds very smooth. Factory tested WR on the case then again after mvt was installed. Watch was regulated and Pete tested WR timing again before shipping.

Chris and Will, thank you for your input on the PO. I'm very tempted! :-)

I know you didn't ask me but I've never been bashful about giving my opinion...subtlelaugh.gif

I've had the PO on and for some reason there was something missing... it just left me flat... didn't give me butterflies. Hard to put it into words but it didn't grab me by the short and curlies.

Now that's just me and my personal opinion. I'm not sure what it is but I still refer the classic styled Seamasters. I could be wrong but I don't know there is a co-axial equivalent of the 2254.50...yet.

Thanks Mark. Wow that's surprising. I guess all the beautiful shots of the PO keep drawing me to it more and more. I need to find the nearest AD I guess to try it on. Maybe I'll take the 2254 with me for comparison too
I'm afraid to pull the trigger then it doesnt wow me as much I'd expect it. I also heard of mvt problems with some earlier models I guess.
