I bought some CAO Cameroon Churchills on my smoke shop guys recommendation for a Scout leader camping trip two weeks ago but it was too cold and rainy to enjoy them. So this weekend I am off to the lake and the weather is supposed to be good. I can't wait to enjoy these with some good coffee around a campfire. Of course I'd rather a nice bourbon but gave that up awhile back ;) Cheers, Griff

Been trying some Churchill cigar last saturday when I was relaxing on my cabine: The tobacoe was from Sumatra! First time I tasted a Sumatraface4.gif Well, it was smooth like a Honduras...Not as strong as a Cuban. Anyway, I prefer my Monte Christozzzzhand6.gif

I meant to update this when we got back from the lake...then got busy coyote2.gif The CAOs were very good, smooth all the way to the end hand6.gif. Spicy, with a lot of flavor. I'll definitely be trying some more CAO, those were my first as I usually smoke Fuente when I have the opportunity. Cheers, Griff

Griff and Hammerfjord, try Caol Ila single malt next time with your cigars. It's really a memorable taste. You'll end up wanting to buy watch companies, not watches.

Aha! You know your whiskies, amigo! I have tried that Bruichladdich and like it too. But the Caol Ila is a smoky, earthy taste that I cannot forget. I only add 2 drops of water in a short whisky glass whenever I drink it. I have sort of hoarded several bottles and I shuttle between open bottles of Caol Ila, Talisker, Macallan and Glenfarclas, depending on my mood. Have you tried Lagavaulin?? Expensive but worth the premium you pay. I'd be careful about that waterfall near you......if you drink too much single malt, you might end up free-diving from the top .Cheers!

Hehehehe, yeah, I know the Lagavulin: Very strong smoky taste! 16 years old bottle is good but a bit expensive as you say. Anyway we got extremly high booz-taxes in Norway: Nearly 100 buks for a Lagav.bottle:X The Talisker is a great choice to! Tried the Oban? Nice taste to! I usualy put a soup-spoon of fresh water in a 1.5'' filled high whisky glass. It's a like 5' wide little water-stream who fall down the mountain at 15' from my cabine: No cliff to danse on it's edge here Or I would drink there with a parachute in the back!

Hahaha. Nice. I'd use an umbrella, not a parachute. I haven't heard about Oban. Now that you've mentioned it, I will seek it out. Try using the most minimum of water in your drink. Even a 1.5 inch high portion will deliver a powerful wallop with just 2 to 3 drops of water. Best to use Perrier. Somehow that trapped fizz awakens all that malt flavor. Cheers, amigo!

I never tried Perrier in the whisky but heard about it... Anyway, what could beat up a water coming right away from the heart of this mounts at 68.5 grades north on a lost island? Hehehehehehe...Skål!
