I asked the question several days ago if anyone had any experience with this line of watches and they seemed to be a completely unknown brand. Well a little research and fishing found me my cheapest ever watch. Now I live in Australia and the biggest pain for me (besides CONUS Sales) is the shipping costs on commercial watch purchases - buying from forum members has always been cost only. I located a BG at two different sellers for $82-$88 (retail $110) however freight was $50 & $40 which really jacks up the price!!! However the folks at oxfordtime4700 had the watch for $35 and $12 freight!!!! In other words the watch & freight was cheaper than the just the freight from one seller, let alone purchasing the watch. As background to the manufacture of the watch this press release provided a lot of comfort - Body Glove, a company from in Redondo Beach, California, founded in 1953 and specialized in wetsuits, swimwear, clothing, footwear, accessories, and technology accessories, continues to expand its product lines with an exciting new range of wristwatches, a line of functional and performance inspired watches for men and women. Body Glove has joined forces with Time Concepts, LLC, a new company established by the founder and CEO of Luminox watches. Time Concepts was established as a "watch platform" onto which new watch brands will be placed, the first among them being the new Body Glove watch collection. With more than 25 years in the chronometric products business, Barry Cohen, founder of Luminox watches, established Time Concepts in 2006 to serve as a separate entity from Luminox for the development of branded watch programs and private label opportunities within the world of timepieces. Design development is under way on 24 more styles within the Body Glove brand, to be released later in 2007, as well as two other brands of watches to be released in the future, in addition to ongoing work on private label OEM watch programs for other companies. The Body Glove watches are very popular among the aquatic sports fans. They are not only very appealing, but they are also a perfect choice for the active lifestyle of the Body Glove customers. They have all the functions of a regular dive watch and yet they are far more elegant. As a throw back to the era when the company was founded, the watch line includes a heritage retro collection with chronographs that have oversized crowns and pushers, braided leather straps and antique dials Now for the mini-review-: I own approx 40 watches ranging from a LM-01,BM,OM,Citizen Attesea LE,Orca,Citizen PMT's,Dievas Oceantimer,Alba MantaRay,Sportura,T Touch and this watch ranks very closely with the lot. Fit and finish is very good, the rubber strap actually fits me comfortabely (9 inch wrist) and the lume on dial is to Seiko/Citizen standards however the hands have 5 % lume applied and are invisible at night. The dial markings are very similar to the Orca and the lume is applied with a silver border - all in all a quality job. 200mWR,45mm case w/o crown,48mm with crown,PVD finish. Screw down crown with the BG symbol engraved on it.The crown at 8 is for the internal rotating bezel, which I love the idea of - makes the face larger and more 'in balance' than the huge external bezels and tiny dials that some manufactures use to make a bigger watch, very much in the style of Ocean7 LM-02,Clycine Lagunaire etc. The case is a beauty, hard plastic shell? enclosed inside and outside with wetsuit neoprene. The pics - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My girls had to get in on the act ![]() ![]() ![]() The Bell&Ross BR-02 looks like a good copy of the Body Glove ![]() ![]() Part of my collection in an old asian handcarved teak box restored and fitted out by me. ![]() Overall I could not be happier with this beauty. Well you sure did your due diligence and got the best deal in your circumstance. That's a great looking watch and you have demonstrated where it gets its styling cues from... One question I have is why is it a regulator? I have a watch known as a regulator with the so called "regulator" dial arrangement.
