It was Saturday Dec. 29,2007 my parents had just got back from vacationing in both Italy and Hong Kong - spending nearly month in a half worth of travelling and visiting relatives in Hong Kong.

Christmas Dinner at my parent's house comprised of Roast Turkey and Roast Ham with traditional fixings with Italian Appetizers thrown in and of course dessert.
Mom always loved European cooking  either French or Italian, it was from this upbringing that I learned to appreciate other cultures and finer things that life itself has to offer. That's why I have been working in the restaurant and hospitality industry for the past 20 years.

After dinner, I went upstairs to get cleaned up and just as I was about to go down stairs. Dad was waiting for me - he took my aside and said "This watch was your grandpa's old watch, I took in to get it clean, adjusted and had the crystal replaced.
The watchmaker, was kind enough to replace the original crown for free. I spent over $230."

I said "Thanks dad".

The Octo Missilemaster 30 Jewel Swiss Made Automatic with non-quick set date. Is a  35mm  gold-filled watch with matching gold dial, indices and gold  Facetted Dauphine hands with sweep seconds.  Turn the watch over, there is a stainless-steel back, with the hard to find gold medallion crest that is embossed "SINCE 1848".

The two-tone beads of rice factory metal bracelet (Resembles Omega Constellation bracelets of 1957-1968) is double signed. The deployment clasp reads Octo, once this is opened it reveals two more engravings. Octo Missilemaster, is located side by side.

The calendar display at three-o-clock is unique. Rather than switch to red to indicate Sunday - this device rotates daily between even in red and odd numbers in black.

I do apologize that I don't have any pics about this particular watch.

The watch sounds cool, but the best part is your dad getting it fixed and passing it on to you.

My dad has various watch ranging from 2 modern Seiko Quartz, 1 Vintage Helbros and a Rolex Tudor Oyster Prince Date.

Working in an environment such as a kitchen of a restaurant is a nightmare for watches. My friends who own names like Omega,Breitling,Chopard and others - I often hear too many of their horror stories.

Therefore, the Octo sits in the office safe until my day is done.
