No new watch for me. But this HR alligator strap was on the porch when I got home today. It really changes the overall look of the Oris Calendar XXL. The watch was purchased new with a rather unique rubber which is quite sporting. Now I feel like grabbing a suit and heading out to dinner. Hadley-Roma Louisiana Alligator: ![]() Here's the old rubber for comparison: ![]() I also picked up a blue shark (no photos yet) I have yet to put on my diver. It's a Di-Modell 100m "waterproof" sharkskin. Last edited on Tue May 20th, 2008 05:43 pm by Ablejack |

That strap really changes the watch. I think it suits it much better, the watch looks more or a dress watch than a sports watch in the first place. Its amazing how you can change the look of a watch just by swapping the strap.

Thanks for the replies. Skipdawg; Yeah I'm gonna miss sporting that rubber-but for now I'm loving this Gator. Oagaspar; Now it looks a lot like your JL! Same brown/black combination and identical clean arabic numerals. (the four is particularly distinctive; is it originally an Omega font?) Paxman; Didn't go out for dinner last night, but I did tonight. The waitress was adorable but she didn't mention how nice my watch looked! She must have sensed how modest I am about such things. Bless her dear young heart. sjedwardz; Yeah the new shoes are like having a new watch... nearly. KenC; Thanks!!! scottran; Yeah the Oris is all grown up now, distinguished like graying sideburns.
