Hi 3Ters. I have loved these for a while, but jumped on one recently. You have all seen photos of the kit with which they arrive - cute 3 holder case, strap changing tool, spare springbars, thin rubber strap, spare strap and so on. But I have tried a new combo that is now my favourite and which may prevent me from putting that rubber strap on it ever again.

My 50 has the red tipped second hand, bund dial and white on black date. Superb build quality, wears bigger than the 42mm and an absolute joy on the wrist. Highly polished (like the new strap buckle - see below) but I don't find it hard to keep clean and scratch free - yet! I saw a Savage strap and bought it second-hand from a seller in the US, then matched it to my incoming Stingray 50 for the following outcome. Head and boots now mated for life.

What do you think of these before and afters?

Before:

After:

And a gratuitous shot from the seller of the strap to show why I went for it... that is his Stingray, not mine... I will post some more comprehensive pics when the weather here improves enough for me to go outside and unstrap it for a full frontal. A new incoming Bob brown buffalo might look nice on this too ;)

The strap is a Savage 22mm x 6mm honey-stitched leather with a gigantic pre-v buckle. Soft as butter and so comfy I don't know why I resisted leather in the past.

Cheers all - IanMhand6.gifhand6.gif

Thanks Tony and O - it is a club worth joining, isn't it? The overall look of the watch gets you, but the engineering and attention to detail keep you hooked. It is a very nice timepiece this one.

And Pax - new shots coming soon on the incoming Bob strap (it has been over two weeks now- getting bored waiting, to tell you the truth). Your Red12 is soooooo very tasty, but for some reason, I have this "thing" for thick brown leather at the moment. Look out for when I get a thing for thick orange rubber!! I honestly reckon these Stingrays would look good with almost any strap or bracelet. Great value and such a great looker. Yours and Tonys watches were the enablers - thanks very much! Do ya like the red-tipped second hand? It is a tiny variation, but I hearteyes.gif it!

Cheers! IanM   hand6.gif

Ian I am so glad to see you've received your Stingray and are enjoying it to the fullest. The red tipped second hand is a great eye catcher and very striking imho. I love the look with the strap and look forward to more "full frontals" in the near future. I think you're really going to have trouble prying the Stingray off your wrist, especially when you have outfitted it on such sweet straps.

Enjoy it my friend. perfect.gif
