An early present from my brother.  The fool has a real Panerai on a bracelet that he wears as a daily beater.  He knows about my new-found appreciation for horological works of art.

So he calls me up to tell me that he got me a "special" watch for my birthday -- which isn't for a few months -- and that he's too excited to wait.

I'm thinking that this is going to be pretty sweet -- coming from a guy with a real PAM, a Rolex President, and a string of used-to-haves including a Yachtmaster and a UN.  So I tear open the paper, and there's a pretty hurking presentation box.  I take a pretty nice wood box out and excitedly (but carefully) open the lid...

I was a little less than overwhelmed.  Well, actually maybe I was overwhelmed...just not in the way I thought I'd be.  Don't get me wrong -- it's a pretty nice looking piece.  It's got 3 time zones.  But it's Ricockulously large.  I mean even those giant Invictums bow to this one.  I think it falls into the "if you're not Flavor Flave, don't think about it".  You be the judge. :?

My lame immitation of the infamous Oscar-shot:

A closeup of the dinner plate.  Hey Hucky!

My poor puny arm trying to pull off this look.  Sigh...

Thanks for sharing my pain.  I hope you found it as entertaining as my bro (he thought it was HILARIOUS) :P

You could serve cake on it if you don't feel like wearing it. Cool look but what is that 58mm?

Man there is a lot going on with that dial. Regardless, I am with O... it's a cool looking piece imho. Monstrous indeed but with all that business on the dial how can you possibly go wrong?face4.gif

And I am still getting used to wearing a 55mm on 7.25 wrist... this is 57mm and what size is your wrist?

Yeah, I confess that the dial layout is cool.  If this thing was 47mm or less, I'd probably really like it.  As O pointed out, it's got a quality movement too.

I have a 7" wrist and I just can't get my brain to accept seeing that big ol' disc on my arm.  The Sea Angler is the biggest watch I own, and I really don't think I could wear a bigger watch.

Knowing my brother, he laughed his ass off all the way home.  He's a pretty frickin' funny guy.

Gotta say I'm leaning towards Skipdawg's suggestion.  ;)

I like the analog temp gauge, very cool hand6.gif
But I wolud never be able to pull that off on my 7.25 wrist, my latest incoming is 47mm which is bumping up at my max size of 50mm (Suunto Core).

Cheers,
Griff

goofy Ha ha!  You guys kill me!  The "A Wristocrats" section of their website kills me.  Check it out.

Lights Out is one bad dude, and he's rockin' one of these.  But man, even on his burly arms it looks crazy to me.  I suppose it's possible (likely even) :P that I'm just not cool enough for one of these.
