Ken, I'm glad to help here...

First...take a few breaths...you'll be okay ;).

There is a dizzying array of G Shock models...and each model comes in a nearly rainbow of colors.

Yes, the G Shock line is separate from the Pathfinder line (Pathfinders here in the US, but they're called Protreks in the UK).  Other than one model released probably 10 years ago, there are no G Shocks with a built-in digital compass (yet).  There are no G Shocks with an Altimiter/Barometer/Compass (ABC) combination.  There is one G Shock with an Altimeter/Barometer...the Riseman, which was originally released nearly 10 years ago, and was just re-released this year (the newer version has solar/atomic functions as well as better alarms/timers).  I have both versions of the Riseman (new and old).

All G Shocks are rated to 200m water resistance, but only one is ISO rated (the Frogman).  The Pathfinder lineup only has one watch rated to 200m (the 1500...which also has a tide/moon graph as well) and none are ISO rated.  All other Pathfinders are rated to 100m or less...including my 1300...but that's okay for me...the most underwater I go lately is the 1 ft of water I encounter during my son's bath ;).

G Shocks, as the name implies, have a special internal case construction that cushions and isolates the module from shocks and vibration.  The Pathfinders are not supposed to have this special construction (I have never opened up my Pathfinders to verify).  I can tell you that I have heard from at least two people that have put Pathfinders (the 1300 series like mine) thru their paces while on tour in Iraq...and they came thru shining!  So, as far as durability goes, the 1300 has been 'battle tested'.

What a great bunch of pickups! The blue Reefer is a beauty for sure and I think the value in Bernhardt watches is outstanding. There's not a clunker in the bunch!! Enjoy them all!:D

I don't ever hide the packages...she's usually the one that signs for them.  She just chuckles at how busy I can keep the mailman :D.
