My daughters got me this for the Holidays.

George J Von Burg

7750 Titanium case

44mm case is an evolution of the previous offerings from them, but taken to the next step.  Given current market demands being placed on the sports watch industry to go larger, and the ever diverging segment that is the sports watch industry this was a logical and natural progression of the line.  The implementation of the plan is on par with previous offerings from the George J Von Burg line.

The only flaw that I have found in the watch is more of a difference in opinion of what it is to be a sport watch.  The case has a 10 ATM water resistance rating and I would like any watch competing in this arena to have a 20 ATM or 200 meter rating.  Given that most of these watches will not see much use as a sport/vacation watch it will most certainly be a moot point.

Thanks O and Tony it is really a nice watch.:D

They handled the finishes well given that the case is Ti and the bracelet is 316L. One can hardly tell the difference between the Carbide plating and the PVD.

Yes it is Orange, it reminded me of GV-2's.  It will play well during Halloween, but it is a great combination.  It plays much better in person.

Looks like a winner, Eric. the dial reminds me a great deal of the Mink chrono divers which have a similar lume if memory serves me right. Very nice and a great gift from your young ladies! (they are getting too big to be girls, no?);)

Interesting to hear your thoughts on what makes a sport watch. It seems there has been somewhat of a paradigm shift in the eyes of many WIS. 100m WR always meant sport watch to me. I could swim with it casually but that was about it... 200m WR meant pro diver spec. Seems as of late many WIS share your opinion looking for 200m WR in a sport watch and 300m WR for a pro diver.

Thanks everyone!!!

Pax I personally do not swim in any watch that is not 20 ATM.  I tend to be more cautious with my watches than most.

Not wanting to get into fluid mechanics, it is so easy to put to much pressure on a watches case system.  The pressure tests and rating are achieved by a gradual increase of pressure in stagnant water at room temp.  Laboratory results do not indicate real world results.  If you hit a pusher on a chrono watch while washing your hands it is a good chance that you just flooded the case or jump into a swimming pool with a 100 meter watch that is not up to 100% spec.

The industry moved that way due to ease of achieving the depth rating and the problem we have had with warranty work that was not the watches or watchmakers fault.
