All seafarers should have one! And I'm glad I grabbed this model before they become too scarce. I'm an ex Coast Guardsman 4 yrs  and 4 yrs as a Merchant Mariner as well and I've always wanted a SMP. Purchased it at an AD because I don't see myself selling or trading it any time soon. I'm not afraid to say I'm thrilled to own this jewel!!

Big congrats, Norman. I would venture to say that model Seamaster (2255.80 I think) is my favorite.  The dial is a beautiful blue and the bezel sparkles!!. Enjoy that beauty!

Congrats NormanThumbsUp02.gif. I have the black dial/bezel version and it's my #1 favorite watch. Wear it in good health and enjoy for many years to come.

and unfortunately I believe that one is discontinued as well..I think the titanium version is the only one left. And Paxman, it is the 2255.80.

There's a small mark on the back, looks like the earth with the Omega symbol engraved in it....you can see it under the seamonster (on the lower rim). I think it's an anti counterfit mark. Maybe someone here can verify its purpose and how long they've been adding that.

Thanks everyone!

It is discontinued and it's not looking like used prices are dropping much. Also, the mark on the back you're referring to is also on mine. It is an anti counterfeit engraving that they've been doing since, I believe, '06 or '07. Once again, enjoy and wear it in good health.
