I've been intrigued by different types of mechanical movements ever since I took my first Timex apart at the age of 12.(never ran again,BTW!subtlelaugh.gif)

I stumbled on this watch being offered on the Bay.  After reading up on this particular model, I pulled the trigger.  It arrived in a HUGE box!  No wonder the shipping was pricey - the wooden box is the size of a Panerai box!  Beautifully packaged, with an added bonus of a 2=watch pouch, similar to what Eddie offers with his watches over at Time Factors. In addition to the fitted, Italian(claimed) leather strap with deployant, it comes with a complete second strap, with deployant and screws.  Really nice, and I must say, I am very surprised at the overall feel and quality of the watch too.  Mine is in two tone, with the bezel and crown being gold tone.

This watch is just something else! The true flying tourbillon movement is simply stunning to watch.  It amazes me that the Asian manufacturers have been able to copy this Swiss design so accurately.  In 24 hours it has gained 1 second!

The separate hour and minute dials take some getting used to, but is a clever way of keeping the "window" uncluttered for 50 minutes of every hour.

Interestingly, this movement is quite noisy.  Couldn't leave it on my bedside table! Apparently it is a known characteristic of these movements.

This is obviously a dress watch, and not sure that it will take kindly to any sort of light abuse.  However, for under $500, this is surely one of the best buys out there.  This is a simple handwind movement, which I prefer to the other offerings. Some have auto movements and complications which distract from the simple beauty of the tourbillon "cage" in my view.  Also, being a true "flying" movement, it has no bridge or support on the face side which spoils the view.

The rear of the watch also has a sapphire window.  Unfortunately a lot of unnecessary "Chinglish" appears on the lid...

All in all, a got-to-have if you enjoy different engines.

If this is the way forward for some Chinese manufacturers, I think we are in for a pleasant surprise.

Your distinguished views on this will be appreciated!
