I've been looking for a manageably-sized chronograph for awhile now.  Something under 40mm and thinner than the regular 7750 offerings so when I saw this at the used-dealer's, I had to get on it right away.  It was "ho-hum" on the website but when I tried it on, that familiar tunnel-vision that afflicts so many of us with this condition took over.  By then, it was a lost cause.

Question: anybody know what movement's in there?  The winding crown and pushers are not on the same plane, so it's definitely a stacked module, but it's a lot thinner than the usual 2824 / Dubois-Depraz variety.  Plus it's an automatic, so I'm wondering how they crammed it all in.

On to the pictures!

Lume isn't too bad...

Now all I need is:

...but I think it's gonna have to wait awhile.

Nice looking watch good score enjoy. ;)

hand6.gifhand6.gif

Looking around it looks like that movement would be a Calibre 17 Automatic (base Eta 2894). ;)

Very nice Tag HeuerThumbsUp02.gif It is a Targa Florio I asume?
One like that slipped away from me this springmistake.gif
I think as Skip do that it`s equipped with TAG Heuer's Calibre 17 automatic movement.
It`s a remake of the 1950s Tag Heuer classic, worn by auto racing legend Juan-Manuel Fangio who won the famous Sicilian road race known as the Targa Florio.
Congrats and enjoyparty.gif

Congratulations on the fantastic looking Tag Heuer, JKang!  hand6.gifhand6.gif  I'm not certain about the movement but I wanted to congratulate you on the very sweet looking chronograph.  Have fun wearing this one around town and good luck with your research on the movement, cheers. woohoo.gif

Thanks for the useful info guys.  This forum is indeed a fount of knowledge!

DM71, I'm not a big TAG fan either (I've only really liked the old plastic-crystal Monaco) but that was before I saw this model.  Never knew it existed as I'm not so familiar with the older models.

Most people here wear the F1, Aquaracer or Carrera.

Thanks again guys!

Jonathan, congrats on the new purchase!

I don't know much about Tag but there are lots here on 3T who can help. If, however, one of resident chrono experts can say your movement is a Dupois-Depraz, consider yourself very lucky. DDs are tops on accuracy and approach chronometer levels.
