Had the hankerin' for a little retail therapy today, so I popped by the local discount-heaven (tourists will be familiar with Mustafa Centre down Little India here in Singapore).  Plenty of weird and wonderful knick-knacks, and sleeper deals on watches of all brands.

But I digress.  Being quite the Edifice fan since my last purchase, I thought I'd head for that aisle again.  Most of the Edifice line is "motor-racing" inspired, so I was very surprised to see a pilot-style model, their "EF-527D" model.

Of course, I had to get it.

On one of Don Ginsler's tan straps.  The dial is actually a very dark mahogany hue, which isn't so clear here.

...but comes thru a little clearer here.

Build quality is better than expected.  For SGD150 (just a hair over USD106) you get a well-machined 45mm case, made in China, housing one of Casio's ubiquitous Japanese-made movements, a screw-down crown, rotating slide rule and a tight, substantial solid-link bracelet with fliplock and button-release.  One cannot complain!

Now, on learning to use that inner bezel...
