I've been curious and interested in the Seiko Sumo for a while and finally decided to take the pluge recently.  It arrived today and I think it's a winner.  The bracelet leaves something to be desired with its cheap clasp and loose fit at the lugs (too much gaps around the lug piece), but I do find it to be sufficiently hefty and I have no problem with the 20mm width (two common complaints I see regarding the Sumo).  The watch head is first class all the way.  Great surface finishing and unique design throughout.  Nice dial with applied indicies and good looking hands.  And Seikos have some of the best bezel action of all divers I've handled.  I think it's a nice value at the under $500 price range and it should be a keeper.

Onto a few pics:

Imho a great watch from Seiko. I'm surprised to hear of the poor finishing regarding the bracelet's endpieces and the lugs. I've been eyeing these for what seems like forever as the offer a sweet orange dial. You are right indeed... this is a lot of watch for under 5 bills. May it serve you well.;)

Thanks guys for your comments!

I'm very happy with the watch, and after owning the Megalodon for a month, the first thought I had when I opened the Sumo box was "this is pretty small" (has anyone ever thought that regarding the Sumo???), which is great because I was slightly concerned that I might have too many large watches. (well, I suppose if I think the Sumo is small, I probably do have too many large watches...)

Great timekeeping out of the box on this one.  I got just under -1s during the first 24 hours, so hopefully it doesn't stray from that too much.

Nice pick up!  Every time I see a picture of the Sumo I wonder why I sold mine.  Enjoy.
