I picked this one up about a month ago with the intention of doing this mod, but I left it alone for a while to see if I would really do it. Well I never wore the watch as is.... So I decided to do the project that was in my mind.

This is the "Mini Fiddy" case with gold hands, not as common as the standard Marina Militare, and a nice watch that you can get for under $100. the case is 44mm and has the shape of the 47mm and has nice high domed glass.

First I had to separate all the parts.

Color choices: Aircraft Grey, Black, White, Red.

I was able to separate the sandwich dial, which is not easy to do.

So now I could paint them individually, keeping it clean

I sprayed the hands white, then hand painted the black center.

glued the sandwich dial back together, put the dial back on the movement, put the hands back on.

put it back into the case, reassemble the case pieces.

I am quite happy with the results, from 12 inches away it looks factory, but up close it looks like a hand painted instrument which makes me think of a vintage aircraft or other vintage vehicle gauge. There is no more lume, but the original lume on all MM watches is terrible, so it wasn't worth keeping.

Fantastic mod. I like the colors you've selected. Very cool and even better that it looks like a handmade instrument under close inspection.
